LAURA SCHNEIDER
DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Laura Schneider was born and raised in Palos Verdes and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She attended University of San Diego as a full scholarship volleyball player, double majoring in Biology and Philosophy with a minor in Chemistry. During college, Dr. Schneider worked as a veterinary nurse at various clinics in San Diego and spent her summers in Alaska at the Seward Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Center. She then chased her dream and graduated from Western University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 where she was Class President. After graduation she completed a yearlong rotating specialty internship at California Veterinary Specialists, and was then hired on as one of their emergency veterinarians. Dr. Schneider then met and married her husband, Joey, and moved with him to Atlanta to complete his medical training. She spent five years as a general practice veterinarian in Atlanta while also having two of their three human babies. They all moved back to the South Bay in 2019, and Dr. Schneider has been working as a veterinarian and raising their three children: Emily 6 years, Annabelle 5 years, and Miles 3 years.
Their home is rounded out with 2 goats, 2 dogs, a bearded dragon, and a tiny black cat. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special interest in ophthalmology, internal medicine, feline medicine, and urgent care/emergency medicine. In her “spare time”, Dr. Schneider loves to go on trail runs with her dog and do yoga. She is excited to join the team and get back to her roots in Palos Verdes.
